The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Nail Art Blocking

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz nail art by @chalkboardnails

in the 31 Day assignment, a few days you win, some days you lose. and you in all likelihood might not have the time or the energy to scrap a mani that you may not be loopy about! So here we're.

it's inspired by means of a book day, and i determined to get creative and try doing 3 wonderful segments of nail artwork, all associated with The first-rate Wizard of ounces. From top to bottom, we've got the Emerald metropolis, the yellow brick avenue, and the poppy fields. i like the concept in theory, however my execution leaves a piece to be preferred.

Nail polishes and products used:
China Glaze Happy Go Lucky
Dermelect Belle Epoque
Polish My Life Birthday Suit
OPI Coca Cola Red
Sally Hansen Going Green
Formula X Dark Matter
China Glaze Running In Circles
Painter's tape

So i am calling this one "nail artwork blocking off" vs. "blocking off nail artwork" due to the fact i am honestly making blocks of different nail artwork looks. blockading nail artwork, to me, is when the blockading is the essence of the nail artwork. How's that for good judgment?

I commenced through painting my nails yellow and adding the yellow brick street detailing. Then, I delivered a coat of quick dry topcoat and waited for it to dry completely. I taped off the triangles with painters tape, after which introduced the Emerald metropolis and poppy fields blocks. A very last swipe of topcoat and the mani turned into finished!

If I had been to do this again, I assume i'd try freehanding the sections as opposed to taping them. i would also use a lighter shade for the brick outlining.
